Coaches’ Picks – Start ’em, Sit ’em Week 4

Start ‘Em

Matt Ryan vs Titans – Matt Ryan at home versus a Titans defense that just gave up 2 touchdowns to Gardner Minshew? Yes, please.

Kyler Murray vs Seahawks – Murray has proved to have a high floor in this new Arizona offense. He’s a must-start in a possible bird versus bird shootout.

Daniel Jones vs Redskins – Danny Dimez showed out last week against a solid Tampa Bay defense. With no Saquon Barkley, look for the offense to rely on the passing game against a defense so bad they made Trubisky look decent.

Philip Rivers vs Dolphins – Miami has been a farm for fantasy points this season. Rivers should be a comfortable start.

Aaron Rodgers vs Eagles – Rodgers hasn’t been his usual self this season, but look for him to have a big day against the 29th ranked passing defense.

Matthew Stafford vs Chiefs – Stafford is going to be at home and in a potential shootout against the Chiefs where they will need to throw the ball to stay close.

Jared Goff vs Buccaneers – Goff and the Rams haven’t been the same powerhouse offense that they were last year, but look for Goff to have a good game against the defense that got scorched by a rookie last week.

Running Backs

James Conner vs Bengals – As disappointing as James Conner has been, look for him to bounce back this week against the 31st ranked rushing defense.

Josh Jacobs vs Colts – A healthy Josh Jacobs should go on a tear against the defense that gave up 5.5 YPC to Devonta Freeman and 150 yds 3 TD’s to Austin Ekeler week 1.

Marlon Mack vs Raiders – With a questionable TY Hilton, the Colts could lean on the run game this weekend against a weak Raiders D.

Justin Jackson vs Dolphins – Poor JJ has had touchdowns called back in consecutive weeks. He should see some extended run this week with the game expected to be in hand early on.

Kerryon Johnson vs Chiefs – With theoretically no one left to steal touches, maybe Kerryon finally gets the lion-share of touches in the shootout with KC.

Wayne Gallman vs Redskins – Volume is king for a running back and Gallman should get a good share of touches with Barkley out. It also helps that he’s playing against the 29th ranked rushing defense.

Wide Receivers

Tyler Lockett vs Cardinals – Russell Wilson’s favorite target is a must-start in a shoot out against the Cards.

Terry McLaurin vs Giants – Scary Terry is the real deal, look for him to continue his historic hot start in the NFL against the defense that allowed Mike Evans 200 yards and 3 TD’s last week.

DK Metcalf vs Cardinals – He might just have the best go route in the NFL at the moment. He could make some big plays this weekend against the Cardinals in a shoot-out.

Mike Williams vs Dolphins – Keenan Allen can’t keep his current pace up right? Mike Williams could have a big day against the laughable Dolphins.

Calvin Ridley vs Titans – The Titans aren’t going to be able to contain Ridley and Julio in the dome.

Kenny Golladay vs Chiefs – Death, Taxes, and start whoever plays Kansas City. Look for Babytron to get some love after Marvin stole the spotlight last week.

Larry Fitzgerald vs Seahawks – Murray’s favorite veteran has a high floor in a high scoring game.

Sterling Shepard vs Redskins – With no Saquon Barkley, the G-Men will try to get the most out of Shepard this week.

Tyler Boyd vs Steelers – Boyd is ranked third in targets so far in the season, look for him to bounce back this week against a bad Steeler’s secondary.

Tight Ends

Will Dissly vs Cardinals – Is it too obvious I think this Cardinals vs Seahawks game will be high scoring? The Cardinals haven’t been able to stop a single TE this year. I doubt they’ll stop a new Wilson favorite in Dissly.

Austin Hooper vs Titans – We’re expecting a big day from Matt Ryan, I expect Hooper to be a solid start at home against the Titans.

TJ Hockensen vs Chiefs – The rookie tight end has been quiet since his debut, but could bounce back this week against the Chiefs in a potential shoot out where the Lions will need to throw a ton to keep up.

Mark Andrews vs Browns – After coming off a dud performance against the Chiefs last week, look for Lamar Jackson’s favorite target to bounce back.

Darren Waller vs Colts – There should be no more doubt about Waller scoring points in Fantasy Football. Derek Carr loves to target him, I love to start him.

Delanie Walker vs Falcons – Walker has consistently been Mariota’s favorite target this season. In a game where they will be forced to throw, Delaine could have a solid day.

Chargers vs Dolphins – That’s it, that’s the tweet.

Rams vs Bucs – Turnover machine Jameis Winston is coming to town and it isn’t going to be pretty.

Jaguars vs Broncos – Joe “Elite” Flacco is about to get acquainted with Calais Campbell and Josh Allen.

Sit ‘Em

Josh Allen vs Patriots – Allen has been a fantasy football stud quarterback, but I’m not starting him this week against a Patriots defense that’s allowed just 17 points all season.

Baker Mayfield vs Ravens – Freddie Kitchens’s play calling has really hurt Mayfield this season. If you can afford not to, don’t start Mayfield this week against a strong Ravens D.

Mitch Trubisky vs Vikings – Mitch usually has a couple games a year where he goes nuts and wins someone a milly. Last week was one of them. Expect him to come crashing back down to Earth this week.

Kirk Cousins vs Bears – Kirk Cousins has been #notgood for fantasy because it looks like O.C. Kevin Stefanski wants to run the ball and rely on the defense to slow things down, who cares if he has the best WR tandem in the league?

Tom Brady vs Bills – The goat travels to Buffalo to battle for the top of the AFC East against the 3-0 Bills. This should be a close, low scoring game. Avoid for fantasy.

Running Backs

David Montgomery vs Vikings – The touches just aren’t where we want them to be, but his snap % has increased each week. Just better left on the shelf this week against a stout Vikings defense in a game where Trubisky will struggle.

Sony Michel vs Bills – Another Georgia running back with knee problems? Say it ain’t so. Michel faces a staunch Bills defense and just lost FB James Develin.

Devonta Freeman vs Titans – Put this man in the spin cycle, cause he’s washed. He’s been losing work to an even less impressive Ito Smith, and facing the Titans defensive front, avoid at all costs. Yes, even if Ito sits this one out.

Aaron Jones vs Eagles – Don’t be fooled by the 2 touchdowns last week, Jones played 39% of snaps and had 10 touches for 19 yards. Jamaal “Little Mermaid” Williams isn’t going anywhere. Cram it, Lafleur.

Frank Gore vs Patriots – Don’t expect Thanos to snap in this one. Singletary might be back, but even if he isn’t, I’m running far, far away.

Phillip Lindsay vs Jaguars – Coming off a stellar performance last week, Lindsay is best left on the bench against the Jags in Week 4 as I expect the Broncos to struggle to move the ball and be playing catch-up in this one. Though Lindsay’s targets through 3 weeks is encouraging.

Wide Receivers

John Brown vs Patriots – Stephon Gilmore wants all the smoke.

Allen Robinson vs Vikings – Rhodes closed.

Josh Gordon vs Bills – Tre’Davious White is arguably the best corner in the league and will take Flash away. Look for Brady to funnel targets to White and Edelman if they suit up.

Nelson Agholor vs Packers – Alshon is expected back for this game, so, Aggy won’t be force-fed targets, and this Packers secondary is for real.

Stefon Diggs vs Bears – The Vikings remain committed to #EstablishingTheRun and Diggs has yet to top 3 receptions in a game. Now he draws the Bears secondary? No, thank you.

Jarvis Landry vs Ravens – Until Todd MF Monken is unleashed, OBJ is the only startable pass-catcher in Cleveland.

Tight Ends

OJ Howard vs Rams – OJ finally saw some balls come his way last week, but don’t be fooled. I’m not excited to fire up anyone against Aaron Donald and this Ram’s defense. Jameis figures to spend most of this game on his back.

Greg Olsen vs Texans – Greg was livin’ the dream last week against Arizona and served as a security blanket for Kyle Allen in his first start. With the lateral agility of a boat, don’t expect the same success this week against Houston.

Kyle Rudolph vs Bears – Rudy may be the 4th option in the passing game for Kirk Cousins who’s on pace for the lowest passing attempts of his career against the Bears?

Jared Cook vs Cowboys – It just ain’t gonna happen.

Jimmy Graham vs Eagles – Questionable for Thursday night’s game and is only 3/7 for 30 yards this season. You can do better.

Saints vs Cowboys – Dak and the Boys are on a roll and the Saints secondary hasn’t rounded into that mid-season form yet.

Cowboys vs Saints – Even without Brees, the Saints offensive weapons are much more formidable than those of the Fins and Redskins.

Browns vs Ravens – Lamar Jackson has looked unstoppable and with the Browns entire secondary banged up, Hollywood could have himself a day.
